How This Retreat Came Into Being
The vision for our Bali retreats emerged through a beautifully orchestrated synchronicity.
During a visit to Balian Beach, we (Patricia & Jacquie) met Karen Lee, an Australian psychotherapist who had recently relocated to Bali. Staying with our dear friend Shankari, Karen spoke passionately about her dream to create transformational retreats. We instantly felt a resonance—something alive began to stir.
Karen mentioned a retreat centre for sale nearby, which sparked our excitement. We visited, explored, and soon realized:
This wasn’t the place. But the seed had been planted.
The dream had awakened.
Shortly after we returned to Australia, Karen discovered Antagana Retreats, named after the local village and deeply rooted in ancient Sanskrit:
“Ananta” & “Yagona” — meditation into moksha, the liberation of the soul.
We knew immediately—this was the home of our retreats.
The Five Elements at Antagana
Antagana weaves the wisdom of the Five Elements into its philosophy and programs, reflecting the natural harmony of Bali’s sacred traditions:
BUMI – Earth
Harmony • Strength • Sincerity • Groundedness
BANYU – Water
Creativity • Flow • The sacred giver of life
GENI – Fire
Inspiration • Innovation • The flame of purpose
ANGIN – Wind
Clarity • Communication • Growth • Mindfulness
UDARA MURNI – Pure Air
Balance • Consciousness • Peace • Trust
Meeting Ratna Indah, the owner of Antagana, affirmed our shared intention to create retreats that bring these five elements into living practice, woven with the spiritual essence that Bali so generously holds. The program took form, the website was created, and now we extend this invitation to you.
